NECDA South SoccerFest @ Niskayuna's Zenner Park
Saturday, June 11, 2016
The goal of the Festivals is to provide each team with 2 or 3 matches (75-80 minutes of play time) in one day. Each team should have a stress-free game environment in which to play in. Referees will NOT be on the field during our Festivals. Instead, coaches are allowed to enter the field and coach their team "on the fly". Coaches on each team will work with each other to create a respectful environment where player and team development is front and center. Coaches may need to adjust the number of players they have on the field to make things competitive and this is ok.
Unlike most tournaments that our children play in throughout the year, the Festivals were designed to offer coaches, players and fans an opportunity to enjoy a soccer event in a festive environment where fun, learning and competition are embraced by all. With music being streamed throughout the park during games, players and parents have no reason not to celebrate the success of both teams.
