2016 Fall Friendly Festival
October 23, 2016 - Hosted by Colonie Soccer Club (No Referees!)
The goal of the Fall Friendlies is to provide each team with 2 or 3 matches in one day. Each team should have a stress-free game environment in which to play in. Referees will NOT be on the field during our Fall Friendlies. Instead, coaches are allowed to enter the field and coach their team "on the fly". Coaches on each team will work with each other to create an environment where player and team development is front and center. Coaches may need to adjust the number of players they have on the field to make things competitive and this is ok. If a team gets up 3 goals. The losing team should add a player. If a team gets up 5 goals. The winning team should pull a player or 2 if needed to allow the players to continue to play to their ability.
Unlike most tournaments that our children play in throughout the year, the Fall Friendlies were designed to offer coaches, players and fans an opportunity to enjoy a soccer event in a festive environment where fun, learning and competition are embraced by all. With music being streamed throughout the park during games, players and parents have no reason not to celebrate the success of both teams.
U10 Teams will play 7v7, U12 Girls Development will play 8v8, U12 Girls Select and U12 Boys will play 9v9 unless agree to do something different. U10 coaches remind your players about no heading, no punting and the buildout line will be at midfield (marked with orange cones) on fields 1 and 2.
